FACULTY OF BUSINESS AND ACCOUNTANCY, UM AIMS TO EARN “TRIPLE CROWN” ACCREDITATION
In hopes of becoming among the leading business schools in the world, the Faculty of Business and Accountancy (FBA), University of Malaya (UM) is now seeking the prestigious “triple crown” status from the most sought-after international recognized accreditation bodies: Association of MBAs (AMBA), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
FBA UM is the first public business school in Malaysia to obtain an international accreditation from AMBA, United Kingdom since 2007. Later in 2016, FBA achieved another significant milestone for receiving full accreditation for a period of 5 years from AACSB. AACSB is based in the United States and known as the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools.
In addition to the international accreditations, FBA was also awarded 4 Palmes of Excellence status for its recognition as one of the top business schools with significant international influence in the Eduniversal ranking, which assesses the international reputation of business schools. This is the highest recognition among other higher education institutions in Malaysia.
In line with the University’s vision and mission, FBA is moving towards the next target in 2018 and is aiming to seek accreditation from EQUIS. Administered by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), EQUIS is an international accreditation system that primarily focuses on higher education institutions of management and business administration.
These accreditations and recognitions affirm the University’s commitment in delivering top-notch and world-renowned quality education in business studies and accounting.
