PROGRAM PEMBANGUNAN KEMAHIRAN SISWA

Program Pembangunan Kemahiran Siswa (PPKS) also known as Student Skills Development Programme (SSDP) is one of a programme that had been approved by the management of University of Malaya and reserved for our students.

For your information, there are a lot of benefits that will be gained by students who participate in this programme such as they will enhance their soft skills and the most sure part is they will get learning experiences while working with us. Besides, they also can grab this opportunity to get extra income so as to survive the campus life in the heart of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. In order to polish their talents in working field, they also can help the management of our beloved university to run smoothly by providing their efforts and helping-hand to create the surrounding of student friendly and as addition, they could be as university's platform to explain and deliver a lot of useful information to their friends about our objectives, breaking news, and services offered for them. Last but not least, we definitely aware that as students, they will need a lot of me-time in order to put their effort at the best level so they can complete their studies within a given period of time but as far as they concerned, they will need fund to achieve those dreams. As a good student affairs,we hope all the needed students will grab this opportunity as we offered this job for part time (maximum 15 hours a week) or full time (maximum 30 hours a week) working hours with a reasonable payment per month.

The Attach@UM program aims to provide exposure to first year undergraduate students enrolling in September 2018 on working world through ten (10) days placement at selected Responsibility Centres (RCs) within the University of Malaya.

The program will take place on Semester Break II, 2018/2019 academic session scheduled from 1 to 12 July 2019 (10 working days - from Monday to Friday).

Students will be exempted from residential college accommodation fee during this program from 1 to 13 July 2019.


Objectives:

a)   To provide exposure to students in the early stages of psychological preparation for employment;

b)   To provide exposure to students on aspects of organizational management in UM;

c) Students can practice soft skills such as communication skills, teamwork, professional ethics and others; and

d)  To help improve employability of graduates at university level and student’s career choice.


Benefits:

a) Students will be given allowance RM10/day for 10 working days, merit and a certificate of participation;

b) Preliminary exposure to work environment and working experience;

c) Acquire hands-on experience;

d) Identify the functions and operations of the Responsibility Centre (RC); and

e) Learn new skills and add to your knowledge base while gaining confidence in your abilities.

This program is organized by Graduate Employability and Entrepreneurship Centre (PKK), Student Affairs & Alumni Division (HEPA).

Note: Students must follow this program in FULL for 10 days.

Tracer Study 1 (Sistem Kajian Pengesanan Graduan 1)

Tracer Study 1 was organized by Ministry of Higher Education and implemented in 2006. The purposes of Tracer Study 1 are shown as below:

  • To improve the quality and standards of higher education in University of Malaya (UM) and Ministry of Higher Education.
  • To obtain utmost important information on the elements of graduate employabilities, employment prospects and entrepreneurship value of UM graduates as well as many more relevant issues with graduates.
  • To get feedback on program education, facilities and services provided by UM.

TRACER STUDY 2 - JOB STATUS UPDATE

Tracer Study 2.0 – Job Status Update (Sistem Kajian Pengesanan Graduan 2.0 – Kemaskini Status Pekerjaan)

Tracer Study 2.0 – Job Status Update was organized by Ministry of Higher Education and implemented in 2014. The purpose of Tracer Study 2.0 – Job Status Update is to study the career progression of graduates for a long time. Local graduates may update their job status 30 days after registration of Tracer Study 1.
